Laptop Repairs
Drop your laptop off at my Wynnum workshop for screen, battery, charging and keyboard faults, diagnosed properly before anything is replaced. I'll quote before any work begins.
- Screen Repair
- Battery & Charging
- Keyboard Repair
- Hinge Repair
Laptops fail differently to desktops — a knock to the screen, a hinge that's stopped working properly, a keyboard with dead keys, a charging port that's come loose, or a battery that no longer holds charge. Drop it off at my Wynnum workshop and I'll work out exactly what's wrong before recommending anything, since laptop repairs often come down to a single failed part rather than the whole machine being at fault. This covers screen replacement, battery and charging faults, keyboard and trackpad repairs, hinge damage, and general hardware diagnostics. Some laptops are more repairable than others — a few models use parts that are hard to source or aren't designed to be opened up easily, and I'll tell you honestly if that's the case rather than taking the job on anyway. I'll diagnose the fault first, then give you a clear quote for the repair — including cost and timeframe if a part needs ordering — before doing any work. If the laptop turns out to have a software problem rather than a hardware one, that's covered under Windows Repairs or Home & Business instead.
My laptop won't charge — is it the battery, the charger, or something else?
It could be any of the three — a worn battery, a faulty charger or cable, or a damaged charging port on the laptop itself. I'll test each one separately rather than guessing, since replacing the wrong part won't fix it.
Can you repair a laptop with a cracked screen?
In most cases, yes. Screen costs vary a lot by model, so I'll check part availability and give you a firm price before ordering anything.
Is it worth repairing an older laptop?
It depends on the fault and the laptop. A screen or battery replacement on an otherwise healthy laptop is usually worthwhile; a major hardware failure on a very old model sometimes isn't. I'll give you an honest opinion, not just a repair quote.
