- Screen Repair
- Drive Replacement
- Hardware Diagnostics
- Physical Damage
If your computer won't turn on, has a cracked or blank screen, or has taken a knock or a spill, that's usually a hardware problem rather than something software can fix. Drop it off at my Wynnum workshop and I'll diagnose exactly what's failed before recommending anything — a full teardown isn't always necessary, and I won't replace parts that don't need replacing. This covers screen repairs, failing hard drives and SSDs, power and charging faults, liquid damage assessment, and general hardware diagnostics for laptops and desktops. I charge a straightforward $120 an hour for diagnosis and repair, and if a part needs ordering I'll give you a clear cost and timeframe before going ahead. If the fault turns out to be software rather than hardware, I'll let you know — that's covered under Home & Business instead.
How long does a typical repair take?
Most drop-off repairs are done within a few days, and simpler issues are often quicker. I'll give you a realistic estimate once I've diagnosed what's actually wrong.
Can you fix a cracked or broken screen?
In most cases, yes — I'll check part availability and give you a clear price before ordering anything, since screen costs vary a lot by model.
What if my computer won't turn on at all?
That's one of the most common drop-off issues, and the cause varies — a power fault, a failed component, or something else entirely. Diagnosis usually points to a clear next step pretty quickly.
